About the band:
This Syrian classical and oriental band consists of five supremely skilled musicians who boast a broad experience of performing traditional Arabic music. The ensemble draws on a wide repertoire of Arabic music, combining the sounds of the violin, kanoun, oud, tabla and daf to create a distinctly Arabic flavour.
Each member of the group has an extensive background in the entertainment industry and together they have appeared on numerous national TV shows and performed live at a host of prestigious events.The group has also participated in many Arabic festivals in the UAE and abroad.
About the oud player and singer
Born in Aleppo, Syria, this highly talented performer was already displaying his talent as a singer and oud player from the tender age of seven. He further refined these skills at the Aleppo Music Institute under the renowned teachers Abdel-Qader Haggar and Mustafa Darwish before graduating to the High Institute of Music in Damascus.
His reputation steadily grew in professional music circles and he was soon performing with folk groups and musicians in and around Aleppo. He later moved on to play with leading Arabic orchestras and ensembles on television and as part of award-winning tours in London, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain.
